Mr. Jim Cameron - Marrs of Methlick
Marrs of Methlick began life as a Satellite Branch of Marrs of Burrelton. Marrs of Burrelton having been started in Burrelton, Perthshire in 1964 by Jim Cameron and his wife, Geraldine, with the Nuffield Agency. In the years that followed, there came Leyland, Zetor and Landini with a branch, Marrs of Inverness in Ballintore, Inverness in 1985 and one in Methlick in 1999 due to the retirement of Stanley Partridge leaving a vacancy in Aberdeenshire for Zetor. Marrs were fortunate to obtain the services of Ian Johnstone as Service Engineer, who had previously been with Stanley Partridge.
In October, 2004, after 40 years in business, Jim and Geraldine decided to retire and the Business closed in Burrelton and in Inverness. Gerard, their son, who himself was a time-served Engineer decided to retain the Methlick Branch himself, forming the Company “Marrs of Methlick Ltd”. He retained the Zetor and Landini Franchises with the addition of the Dieci Forklift which serves both the Agricultural and Construction Trades. Also added to this was the list of Machinery Agencies that Marrs had dealt with over the years.
The team at Methlick has Mandy Anderson in charge of the office administration and she makes sure the days go by smoothly and efficiently with her enthusiasm for the job. Our Service Department is run by Ian Johnstone whose wealth of experience with tractors of various makes is second to none. Peter Barrack, who joined us from school, has served his apprenticeship under Ian and has gained knowledge he is now putting to good use.
Whilst we are a small team, we are all dedicated to giving the best possible service and support to our customers in Aberdeenshire and beyond. We are fortunate that our reputation is such that we deal with customers in Shetland, Uist, Mull, Cumbria, Perthshire, Angus and Fife, and even as far afield as Florida!
Our aim is to offer an honest, fair deal and to provide our customers with the best service and support that we can. We appreciate their business, past, present and future.
